Work-A-Week begins!

View halloo, all!

Well, the poll is closed and the votes counted, so the 5 Sketch-A-Day pieces with the most votes will be turned into finished pieces every week for the next 5 weeks!

Here are the winners, in descending order (please note, this may not be the order in which they are completed):

* * * *

* * *

People have asked if the Sketch-A-Day drawings are available for purchase, and the short answer is yes! As I make my way into the Work-A-Week project, I'll be uploading a list of their pieces and respective asking prices. So, if you've got your eye on a certain sketch or sketches, stay tuned for that post.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for the Sketch-A-Day project, it's much appreciated!

As a side note, I've been doodling since the end of the Sketch-A-Day project, on a smaller scale than the Sketch-A-Day originals (all at 9x12",) but, if people are interested in these other random doodles, let me know and I'll start posting them, too. These sketches are a lot rougher than the Sketch-A-Day pieces.

I thank you for joining me again this week! Feedback is the food which fuels the creative discussion between Artist and Audience, please, feel free to comment or leave suggestions for new projects!

Work-A-Week 2014 Poll Time!

View halloo!!

Well, here we are, done with the January 2014 Sketch-A-Day Project and moving into the Work-A-Week Project, and that means, it's time for voting!

I've split the polls into 7 day segments (and one for the last 3 days.) They're all multiple option polls, so you can vote for as many pieces from each poll as you like. The 4/5 pieces with the most votes at the end of the next 48-hour period (through February 5th, 1pm, Eastern Time) will be the 4 pieces finished over the next few weeks. (Substitutions may be made in the event of ties, but all the upcoming Work-A-Week pieces WILL be chosen from January's 31 sketches.

Each piece will be posted on a Monday, back on the usual State of the Artist weekly schedule, complete with some progress photos, if people are interested.

Thank you!!

Sketch-A-Day 2014: Day 31

Sketch-A-Day 2014: Day 31

THAT'S IT!
It's January 31st, there has been one sketch every day this month, thereby bringing the Sketch-A-Day Project for January to a close.

Next up is the Work-A-Week Project, where I'll be turning one sketch (out of the previously posted 31 sketches) into a finished work every week for the month of February. The poll to vote for the pieces to be finished will be posted either later tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who gave me any kind of feedback, be it hitting the Like button or leaving comments (or both.) Your feedback always helps and is greatly appreciated! Sketch-A-Day 2014: Day 30

Sketch-A-Day 2014: Day 30

Only one more day to go!!

Some kind of refuge for reflection, perhaps? I’d love to have some kind of isolated little spot like this to get away from the noise and congestion of the city, somewhere to listen to the sound of the world passing by for a while…

Another new sketch again tomorrow!! Feedback is the food which fuels the creative discussion between Artist and Audience, please, feel free to comment or leave suggestions for new projects!

Sketch-A-Day 2014: Day 28

Sketch-A-Day 2014: Day 28

I've been playing around with this concept for the last few years (since about 2008,) every now and then it pops up in whatever sketchbook I'm working in at the time. Every time, I try to get a little closer to what I'm after with the concept, never *quite* getting here... this one is a little closer, but still Not Quite Right.
